Patio or decking?

The choice available for new patios is extensive. Choosing a material to complement your surroundings is the first thing to consider, especially if you want your patio to blend in with your existing home and garden landscape.

Materials range from natural stone such as York paving, Indian paving, and block paving to porcelain and concrete, or you can choose a time or composite decking.

Decking is an excellent alternative to a traditional patio and will work well as an add on to a new or existing patio. Decking also offers a comprehensive range of textures and colours and the ability to change the level more easily.

Decking

Installing garden decking to your home adds real interest to your outdoor space. Decking is less expensive than paving to lay as the ground beneath doesn’t require levelling.

Wooden decking requires regular oiling to maintain the colour.  Be aware that cheaper timber decking may warp and move in time. Therefore, our advice is to spend a little more to prevent problems further down the line.

Composite decking only requires a gentle brush and wash. Check the guarantee and if it is UV stable as it should not fade like natural woods.
